Ingredients

For the Cupcakes

  • 150g all-purpose flour

  • 100g sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 100ml milk

  • 100g butter

  • 50g unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 4g baking powder


For the Chocolate Frosting

  • 200g butter

  • 40ml heavy cream

  • 50g powdered sugar

  • 30g unsweetened cocoa powder

Preparation

Step1

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.

In a bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In another bowl, mix the eggs, milk, and melted butter. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until you have a smooth and even batter.

Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with the batter and bake for 18-20 minutes. Do the toothpick test to check for doneness; the toothpick should come out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.


Chocolate Frosting

Step1

Beat the softened butter with the sifted powdered sugar and cocoa powder until you have a light and creamy mixture.
